As a successful businessperson and public servant, I have the background and experience to provide the thoughtful financial analysis and executive leadership that Brookline needs.
I will work to relieve the Town’s fiscal pressure while still meeting our climate goals, improving our transportation infrastructure, and ensuring that our public schools have the resources they need to deliver high quality education for all students.
To improve Brookline’s financial health I will focus on:
- Maintaining Brookline’s AAA bond rating, to give us the ability to do more with the money we need for our roads, our parks, and our schools.
- Uncovering new opportunities to provide more services for less cost.
- Improving our technology and streamlining how our government operates and how it provides services to the public.
- Removing the barriers facing new commercial and mixed use development to increase and diversify our tax base and relieve fiscal pressure on current homeowners and renters.
- Implementing recommendations to improve our fiscal outlook from valuable studies the Town has already completed, including a study by the Brookline Fiscal Advisory Committee and a recent study of Payments In Lieu of Taxes.
In all of these efforts, I will fight to maintain and enhance the value provided by our municipal government - and to do so in ways that are fiscally prudent and durable.
